Perfect for Strategy Gamers, Train Game Fans & Families
All aboard for the Golden Age of European Railways! In Free Ride, acclaimed designer Friedemann Friese (Power Grid, Friday) takes players back to the late 19th century, when Europe’s rail network exploded with growth, connecting iconic cities and architectural marvels.
In this elegant and strategic route-building game, you construct railway lines across Europe and move your train to deliver passengers to major cities. Travel routes are represented by city cards—reach your destination, complete the journey, and earn valuable victory points. Use your own tracks for free, state-owned lines for free, or pay opponents to use their tracks—which then turn into state-owned routes available for everyone!
Optimize your routes, expand your network, and travel as efficiently as possible. Upgrade later to carry two travel routes at the same time and speed up your locomotive across the map.
The heart of the game? Visit as many distinct European cities as you can.
